Biography

BOBO is originally from the Ivory Coast. A versatile artist with multiple talents, he has traveled the stages of West Africa, Europe, the United States, Mexico and Canada.


He presents a refreshing repertoire of mixed urban music. His engaged Afro-Reggae, with a touch of Ivoirian festive rhythms, makes people dance, and reflect. It is a rallying cry for African unity. 

Co-founder of the Montreal-based group Djidji, winner of the Syli de Bronze 2010 at the Syli d'Or competition for World music, he has performed at numerous festivals on the Canadian stage, including the Festival International Nuits d’Afrique de Montréal, the Franco Festival of Calgary, the Festival du bout du monde of Gaspé, the Festival International Rythmes du monde of Saguenay, the Festivoix of Trois-Rivières, and the Africa Festival of Arts and Culture Society of Halifax.

An internationally renowned dancer, he has been a member of several Ivorian dance companies including Ten Zo and Kôtou Danse.
